ゴルフ場の一日は、当コースでは
コース管理の方々の出勤で始まります。
 
まだ夜明けには相当間のある時間帯に出勤し、
コース整備へと繰り出します。
 
カップ位置の変更は
その中でも大事な仕事で
その日の来場者数だけではなく、
 
どのような来場者の方が多いのかも
判断しながらカップ位置を決めます。
 
難しい方が面白いかというと、
すぐ横に強い傾斜のある場合などは、
OKの位置に寄った。よしよし。
と思ったのもつかの間、
 
ボールが動き出したかと思うと、
5mも下に落ちて行ってしまう
ということが起きます。
 
そのため、カップ周りの傾斜のほか
進行が遅くならないようにも含めて
カップは新たに切られて行きます。
 
一方で、グリーンはご来場の方がもっとも
気にする所、スコアに影響を与える所
となりますので、遅い・速いだけでなく、
 
芝の状態なども、メンバーさんや
ネットクチコミの標的になりがちです。
 
そこから社長には叱られたりとかで、
担当者の気苦労は並大抵ではありません。
 
そのため、今日のグリーンはよかったよ
という話を聞くと、
コース管理の担当者に
それを伝えるようにしています。
 
ただ、大事な部分であるだけに、
ご意見は大変貴重なもの
と受け止めさせて頂いています。

他に、フェアウェイ等だけではなく、
コース周辺の管理も
コース管理の仕事です。
 

 

 
今日はたまたまゴルフ場へのアクセス道路の
清掃現場を見かけましたので、写真に撮って
みました。
 
写真の現場はコースからかなり下がった位置
ですので、本来は行政の仕事ではないかと
思うのですが、
 
お客様のことを考えればそうも言っておれず、
コース管理の担当者が定期的に作業をしています。

A day at the golf course begins with the course maintenance staff arriving at work.
 
They arrive at work well before dawn and head out to prepare the course.
 
Changing the cup position is one of the most important tasks,
 
and the cup position is decided based not only on the number of visitors that day, but also on what type of visitors are more prevalent.
 
It’s not necessarily true that the more difficult the cup position, the more fun it is.
 
“I got really close to the cup. That’s great.”
 
If there’s a steep slope next to the cup,
the ball might start to move, but then roll down 5m.
 
For this reason, the cups are cut anew to ensure there are no steep slopes close to them and to avoid slowing down the progress of the round.
 
On the other hand, the green is what visitors care about the most and what affects their score,
 
so not only is it slow or fast, but the condition of the grass also tends to be a target of members and online reviews.
 
The maintenance staffs get scolded by the president because of those reviews, so the stress on them is sometimes unbearable.
 
So when I hear someone say, “The greens were good today,” I make sure to tell the course maintenance staff.
 
However, since this is an important part,
we take these opinions as extremely valuable.
 
In addition, course maintenance work includes maintaining not only the fairways and other areas on the course,
but also the areas surrounding the course.
 

 

 
Today I happened to come across a cleaning site on the access road to the golf course, so I took a photo.
 
The site in the photo is located quite far from the course,
so I think it should be the government’s job,
 
but considering the customers, they can’t afford that, so the course maintenance staff carry out the work regularly.
